Discussion Easystore H - Can someone share recovery discs as I have lost my originals.

ZIPRUN01 Member Posts: 4 New User. Can someone please help me with a copy of original recovery disc for my H I called the Acer store and they tell me they are no longer available. Best Answer. April Chihua14 Member Posts: 4 New User. May I have all 3 discs that came with the H when I originally purchased it.

I assume that it is ok for me to share them but I would like someone from Acer to weigh in on this. It seems unusual that it wouldn't be available from Acer. Not sure how or where I would post or upload an iso image of them. I personally am looking for the ANNIE.

GHO file. Some have commented that it is on the original discs but that file is not there. It would also be useful if someone can give instructions for creating a bootable usb from the recovery discs. If they're Win7, Win8 or pre-Win7 installation discs, ACER discs are often no longer available. Furthermore, some of these might not work on machines with different embedded serial numbers.

You can usually create bootable recovery USB sticks from the DVD discs by using RUFUS freeware. Chihua14 said:. Downloads were probably more than 10 years ago in the WinVista or WinXP era. It'll probably boot install from a RUFUS prepared USB stick from the disc iso. You might still need the WIN or OS serial number on the disc holder to complete the installation.

Add my name to list of users looking for ANNIE. GHO - I have had two Acer EasyStores two different locations for WHS and they work flawlessly until they don't. Anyone who could provide a copy would be a hero, based on the number of posts on this file. I can confirm it was not on the setup disks with either of my systems. Another fine Yogiism! Refer to this link and PM Acer-Karp or one of the other moderators to see if they can help. I can send the discs - I've made a zip file of the iso images.

I need you email address to send you a Google Drive download link. Who's Online Acer-Laura. Join in, share your experience! Predator XBQ GW scored an "AMAZING" rating from the IGN Awards. I'm running an Acer Aspire easyStore H with Windows Home Server and am fed up with WHS's quirks. Can I install FreeNAS on it instead? Joined Aug 31, Messages I don't see why not.

Given it a try, if you haven't yet. Post any problems in the forum. Good luck! Joined Mar 25, Messages 19, If you are using server you may not have enough RAM for ZFS I used to have the ACER H, I think I always ran into problems with and memory. The max memory I believe for that chipset is 2 GB according to Intel.

The body is great, I love the look and hot swappable bays, if you can find a form factor to replace it with and upgrade that's what I would do. CAlbertson Member. Joined Dec 13, Messages Yes you can install FeeNAS on it. But you may find that you need to use UFS and not ZFS.

ZFS would require a lot more RAM. But not to worry UFS is not worse then what you have. I'll probably have a go once I have plucked up enough courage! Installation is easy and takes all of about 15 minutes. But if you want a dry run, install FreeNAS on a virtual machine. I keep a FreeNAS installation on my Apple iMac so I can try stuff out and experiment.

It holds no real data so I can delete the virtual drives and recreate them. But on the other hand ZFS is the biggest reason to go with FreeNAS. If you can't use ZFS then you might think about a Linux based NAS. But if you need ZFS then it is either FreeNAS or nas4free.

I have FreeNAS installed on a Proliant Microserver so that's not an issue. It's whether or not I can repeat it on the Acer without 'big problems'. Zivier Newbie. Joined Apr 22, Messages 2. Hi All, I tried to install Freenas without display, not using the special cable.

It sounds like the H is booting on the USB Freenas but I can't access Freenas, not network connection, I read somwhere that Freenas is not "compliant" with the MARVELL 88E eth controler? I'm totally newbie with Freenas and not fully operational with linux, is there a way to include the Marvell drivers into the Freenas image onto my USB stick?
